Queridos Padres, y los Demas,
OK. I just got an email from President Burbidge. He told me that it would be better for me to be released by the Stake President in Salt Lake. I´m OK with that because President said so. Anyways.
So the plan will be something like this. I can chill out in Utah for a week or so and then come back up to Washington. I talked to my Sergent and she said that everything will be fine when I come back, the only thing that I need to do is come back before the 30th of October. Since I´ll be coming home the 11th I´ll have plenty of time to get everything organized and ready. Mostly putting all of my stuff in order. So yeah.
And when I come up to Washington I´ll just talk to President Burbidge
So yeah. Everything will be super fine when I get back. I´ve made a few friends here on the mission, Elders who live in Utah, so I´ll probably take some time to hang out with them and stuff.
So I heard that Jabez lost some stuff? I´m sure that you guys knew about that but just didn´t want to tell me. I´m not stressed out about it or anything. But that is a bummer. I hope that he is doing OK. I miss him a lot and I can´t wait to get back and talk to him again.
Anyways. This week went by kind of slow. If you all didn´t know I have like five months now here in Cancun, and in the same area. So things sometimes get a little, well, boring. But we´re trying to get back up on the ball and work harder.
I sent some pictures of what happened around my birthday. The cake I made and President Salinas giving me a box of cookies. Yeah.
Not much else to report. Things are going kind of slow these days but it´s all in the head and we just need to refocus and get excited and work! Anyways.
So this Saturday we had multi ward activity and the church. We had been planning it for like three or four weeks. It was a talent show and it really was pretty fun for everyone. We did a skit as missionaries, well. not as missionaries. OK, what we did is we staged a mugging that happened in a market place in Mexico City.
The market is super famous for all sorts of bad stuff. They sell stolen articles there and all sorts of crazy stuff. Anyways, when I get the video I´ll show it to everyone when I get home. But what happens is four of us were the thieves, one was a tourist who gets robbed, and the other told the story. It´s kind of hard to explain. What happens is the tourist gets shoulder checked by two of the thieves and we act like it´s a camera so there is a pause and rewind and slow motion stuff, it´s really funny and we practiced a bunch. So after the shoulder check we get paused and the one narrating asks, " If they saw what happened?
Then we rewind and do it again in slow motion. Again they don´t see anything. Then we rewind and do it in super super slow motion, and the moment that the two thieves shoulder check, what they do is slug the tourist, pick up up, flip him on his head in the air and then shake him so all his money falls out.
So you can imagine two thieves hold onto someone shaking him like someone would shake a bucket upside down to make sure everything leaves. It was super funny! I´m sure that my description doesn´t do it justice, so ask me in three months and I´ll show you all.
Other than that things are pretty normal down here. It´s raining a lot because of the hurricane season.
I miss you all very very much!
Love
Elder Giles
